What makes Madeira unique?
Madeira is very special and not your stereotypical island, there’s so much more than meets the eye. Starting with its location, its subtropical climate stems from its close proximity to the African continent which sits just 500 kilometres away. Not to mention, we’ve been blessed with flawless landscapes including endless amounts of forest which hideaway some of the island’s best hikes.
Even though it’s just a short flight away, you will instantly feel like you’re on the other side of the world thanks to its awe-inspiring viewpoints, dominating mountain backdrop and tropical vegetation. With a sun-soaked year-round climate, activities are endless no matter the season. And the locals are extremely kind and welcoming, making it easier to unwind and relax. I can’t just pinpoint one reason that Madeira is so unique, there’s a number a factors why it’s so special.
Have any celebrities visited Madeira?
Celebrities seem to be drawn to Madeira from Stephen Hawking to Prince Albert and Margaret Thatcher. Not to mention, Sir Winston Churchill and Pope John Paul II – famous faces are aplenty.
Who would you say Madeira is best catered for?
If you’re searching for infinite outdoor activities or somewhere unique and not necessarily looking for beaches, then Madeira is perfect for you. Although I think it appeals to all walks of life, especially those who want to witness nature in its purest state.
