Located at 580 meters of altitude, it has a transparent glass balcony named “Skywalk” that offers a vertical view over the Rancho and Cabo Girão fajãs (with small cultivated areas on the cliff), as well as magnificent panoramic views over Funchal, Câmara de Lobos and the sea.


The viewpoints, with impressive attractive natural sceneries, are a constant throughout the island. They are duly marked points of attraction, where nobody can resist taking a break to contemplate the beauties of the surroundings and photograph the outlooks.


At Eira do Serrado, at 1,095 meters above sea level, you get a fantastic view over the Curral das Freiras valley and its magnificent mountains.

To observe the highest peaks of the island, you just have to access the Miradouro dos Balcões after walking on its short and beautiful path.


If you are looking for a place to watch the sunset, Farol de Ponta do Pargo viewpoint is an excellent option, since it is located in the westernmost point of the island, and from there you may get incredible views of the sea and all the southwest coast.


To watch the sunrise, we advise you Pico do Areeiro viewpoint. It is an excellent point since it allows you to be “above the clouds”, at 1,818 meters of altitude; you will get there after traveling by car along the scenic road that connects Poiso with Pico do Areeiro.
