Pebble beaches

Pebble beaches are predominant on Madeira Island, and they can be found throughout the island (from north to south). The characteristic sound of the pebbles rolling on the waves, their shiny black colour, which contrasts with the white foam of the waves, are trademarks of Madeira’s landscape.
