Sandy Beaches

In Madeira’s archipelago there are beaches with black sand, yellow sand, natu-ral or artificial; there are also beaches whose sands have therapeutic properties. The largest beach in Porto Santo is 9 km long and the other beaches vary in size depending on the tide, such as Prainha. There are sandy beaches next to the cities of Funchal, Machico and Santa Cruz, as well as many others… in some cases, they can only be accessed by boat.
